Denise Springer


I had always been active through high school with sports.  When I started college, I was not as active as I was in high school but the eating habits didn't change. So when I was getting married, I wanted to lose weight but really struggled.  I just let my weight continue to get heavier.  By 2008, I decided that I needed to get control of my weight as there are health issues in my family. There was a diet/lifestyle program at my work and I signed up.  The weight started to come off but needed more than just to change the way I was eating.  

 

My friend, Alisha Medina, was taking Hot Hula Fitness and not long after she started she invited me to join her.  I was never one to take a group exercise class.  I always worked out by myself.  I really enjoyed the classes from the beginning.  I really didn't think I would be able to do Hot Hula but, after the first few classes, I truly fell in love with it.  At one point, I was taking the classes at least 4 times a week.

 

Hot Hula Fitness has helped me with losing the weight and inches off my body.  I have seen such a transformation from the time I started taking Hot Hula to now.  I am able to push myself harder in classes and have even had the chance to help guide new participants.  Hot Hula is not just a great fitness program it is also a family.  I love having that feeling that I am among family.  

 

In November 2013, I had reached my goal weight and became a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and continue on maintaining my weight loss with the program. Since beginning my weight lost journey, I have lost a total of approximately 65 pounds. 

 

I continue to attend classes and special events (when I am able).


Thank you Anna-Rita and company for making a format that is good for all fitness levels!  I love the friendships that I have made through Hot Hula.
